Let’s Make Our Petition to the President Historical

What a great start!

We’ve just begun our campaign to get signatures on our petition to the President, and your response to our NAN email request last month was terrific. Thanks to your signatures, along with your friends and contacts who signed with you, our number of supporters is increasing by the hundreds.

But we need more. When we call on President Obama to publically commit to bring our nation’s leadership, intellectual and creative forces to bear on ending breast cancer, we intend to send an historical number of signatures to the President. Please, put all your advocacy skills, your hard work and determination together and ask five more people to sign our petition and add to the weight of our voice.  

• Sign the petition now if you haven’t already. 
• Send the electronic form of the petition to all your networks with a personal note of endorsement strongly encouraging them to sign. 
• Print copies of the petition to collect signatures from your friends and colleagues, and at group meetings or tabling opportunities.  Send these to NBCC, 1101 17th Street NW, Suite 1300, Washington, DC 20036.

NBCC Is Your Breast Cancer Resource Throughout October

If we’re going to end breast cancer by January 1, 2020, we have to correct the perceptions—and misperceptions—about breast cancer. NBCC has the resources for you to do just that. Here’s what we have available for you, and information about where you can get it:

RESOURCES 

• Breast Cancer Deadline 2020^® Flyer (download and print) offers new advocates an introduction to Breast Cancer Deadline 202^®.
• NBCC Bookmarks/2012 Calendar. This handy "give away" gets the Breast Cancer Deadline 2020^® logo and website address out to potential breast cancer advocates.  We have large quantities waiting to be put to good use! (order now by contacting Kathryn Johnson).
• NBCC will launch 31 Truths About Breast Cancer, beginning October 1.  Every day throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month the Coalition will reveal a new truth. The daily truths will be available via the web, email, Facebook and Twitter.  Look for an upcoming opportunity to sign up to receive the daily truth directly to your inbox.
