You will participate in an innovative exercise on creativity designed to stimulate, challenge and inspire your thinking as you offer your thoughts on key areas of focus to be implemented in NBCC’s strategic plan for year five of Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®.

Day 2:
Sunday, May 4, 2014


NBCC President Fran Visco  will deliver her keynote address. She will provide an insider’s view of the research taking place on prevention and breast cancer metastasis through the Artemis Project® as well as NBCC’s progress on its public policy agenda. Participants will then hear directly from the researchers who are driving crucial scientific projects to advance our knowledge about breast cancer so we will know how to end the disease by January 1, 2020.

Day 3:
Monday, May 5, 2014


Monday’s discussion will include a special focus on public policy—understanding the Administration and Congress with dynamic political discussions, mobilization training workshops, state delegation meetings in advance of Lobby Day.

NBCC’s Annual Lobby Day is a cornerstone to NBCC and Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®. We bring our grassroots network of advocates to the doors of the nation’s decision makers, prepared to effect change in public policy and scientific research that will move us towards that goal.Join us for an immensely empowering day—NBCC’s annual Lobby Day on Capitol Hill, Tuesday, May 6. 
Lobby Day is open to all who want to participate in this powerful day when hundreds of breast cancer activists make their voices heard. On Lobby Day, our breast cancer advocates will:

  • Urge members of Congress to support and pass the Accelerating the End of Breast Cancer Act, legislation, which will help meet the Breast Cancer Deadline 2020® goal;

  • Promote continued funding for the Department of Defense (DOD) Breast Cancer Research Program. (BCRP);

  • Support access to quality health care for all.
