About the Advocate Summit Rally
Saturday May 5, the National Breast Cancer Coalition will open its Annual Advocate Summit with an adrenalin-pumping, invigorating, electrifying Breast Cancer Deadline 2020® Rally! As a participant, you’ll feel the energy of our movement and be inspired by the state-by-state report of accomplishments by our grassroots. You’ll also hear NBCC President Fran Visco deliver her Summit address.
This rally is about you! The success of the rally is dependent upon your participation.
What You Need to Do Before the Rally
We’ve got just one month before the rally! That’s plenty of time to get ready to show your state proud. It’s also plenty of time to gather additional signatures on our Presidential Petition. For several months now, we have been asking you to sign the Presidential Petition and to get additional signatures. Our goal is to deliver 290,000 signatures to the President on inauguration day in January 2013. Why 290,000 signatures? Because this year, nearly 290,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s time to change that statistic. Sign the petition. Help us get additional signatures so we can make a strong statement to the President that it’s time to end breast cancer.
PS. Everyone who delivers at least 20 signatures for the petition to the designated location at the Summit will be entered into a raffle. The drawing will take place during Summit.
Rally Day
When you arrive at the NBCC Annual Advocate Summit, you’ll be directed to the “Creative Room” where you can make signs, decorations, assemble any of the Rally materials you brought from home to show your state spirit at the rally. Your Summit Coordinator will instruct you so each state delegation will assemble before hand and enter the rally area as a group.
During the Rally
Show your excitement! Cheer on the accomplishments of NBCC’s grassroots advocacy in action! Celebrate your state’s—and the others’—accomplishments! Tweet about the event!
See you in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom starting at 4:00! Or virtually online! The Rally will end by 6 pm.
